The Vernon Kyoushin Karate Club was officially started in 1932 making it the oldest Karate School in Vernon. Originally started by Martin Dusowswa, a student of Jon Bluming's who trained directly under Mas Oyama, the instruction tasks have been handed down through Ron Miciuk, Lyle McWilliams and Herb Milton. Herb Milton assumed responsibility of the Vernon Club in 1982, 1994 was the start of the Lumby dojo and has produced numerous Black Belts, National and International Champions and several members to the World Championships. In 2002 Cliff Craske took over as Head Instructor of the Vernon Dojo as Herb Milton moved on. We still produce World and International Fighters and are always looking forward to drop in by fellow Kyokushin members.
